Welcome to Make Me A Shopping List ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and service at makemeashoppinglist.co.uk (the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service you agree to these Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a legally binding contract under the laws of England and Wales to use the Service. By using the Service you confirm that you meet these requirements.

Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that happens on your account.
• You must give us accurate, current information and keep it up to date.
• You may close your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms.

Subscriptions and payment

• The Service offers a Free tier (limited to a fixed number of meal plans and meal swaps per calendar month) and a paid Pro tier (monthly or yearly).
• Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. You authorise us, via Stripe, to charge the recurring fee to your chosen payment method until you cancel.
• You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period: you keep Pro access until then, and we do not pro-rate refunds for the remainder of the period.
• Prices are shown in GBP and include any applicable UK VAT.

Statutory cancellation right (14 days cooling-off)

Under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel a new subscription within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. See our Refund Policy for how to claim.

Meal plans, prices and AI-generated content

• The Service uses third-party AI models to generate meal suggestions, recipes and price estimates.
• Meal suggestions are not nutritional, dietary or medical advice. If you have an allergy, intolerance or specific medical condition, always read ingredient labels at the shop and consult a qualified professional before changing your diet.
• Prices shown are AI-generated estimates and may differ from what you actually pay at the till. We are not liable for differences between estimated and actual prices.
• Recipes are suggestions only. You are responsible for safe food preparation, including cooking food to safe temperatures, storing leftovers correctly and observing best-before dates.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to break any law, including UK GDPR, the Computer Misuse Act 1990 or consumer protection law.
• Attempt to access another user's account, scrape the Service, or reverse-engineer it.
• Submit content that is illegal, abusive, defamatory or infringes another person's rights.
• Resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.

Intellectual property

The Service, its brand, code, design and content (other than your own data and any third-party material) belong to us. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for the duration of your account.

Your data

Our use of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

Service availability

We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may take the Service offline for maintenance, updates or for reasons outside our reasonable control.

Limitation of liability

• Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
• Subject to the above, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or £100, whichever is greater.
• We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of goodwill, or any losses arising from your reliance on AI-generated meal or price information.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or if continuing to provide the Service to you would expose us to legal or commercial risk. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; we will retain or delete your data as set out in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will email registered users and update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
